ARTIST STATEMENT
My work explores themes of play and the wonder of childhood through a visual language defined by colour and shape. I aim to create beauty while engaging deeply in decision-making, guided by my intuition and trust.
At its core, my practice reconnects me with parts of myself that felt unsupported in childhood. Each piece serves as a space to honour imagination and the magic of exploration. It is a delicate balance of control and instinct that allows me to create something unexpected and sincere.
My initial ideas begin as a series of digital sketches that I project onto a raw canvas to colour in. I primarily use acrylic paint, incorporating various mediums and tools for application, as well as mixed media to create layers and texture. The use of paint allows the forms to come to life, enabling digital, physical, and accidental elements to coexist in harmony.
My work is playful and abstract, focusing on the relationships between composition and colour. While I hope viewers experience joy, the process is what matters most to me—a bridge to my inner child and a space for reflection, repair, and most importantly, delight.
