ARTIST STATEMENT

My work explores themes of play, childhood creativity, awe, and wonder through a bold visual language of colour and shape. I’m driven by a desire to create beauty and engage deeply in the decision-making phase—where intuition, editing, and trust guide the process.

At its heart, my practice reconnects me with parts of myself that felt unsupported in childhood. Each piece becomes a space to honour joy, spontaneity, and the magic of exploration. I’m drawn to the tension between control and instinct and how that balance can lead to something surprising and sincere.

I work primarily with acrylic paint, using mediums, various tools for application, and collage to build layers and texture. I begin with digital sketches that I project onto raw canvas, where colour and paint bring the forms to life. Scraps from earlier phases are sometimes reintroduced, allowing digital, physical, and accidental elements to coexist.

My work is playful and abstract, focusing on composition and colour relationships. While I hope viewers feel joy, it’s the process that matters most to me—a bridge to my inner child and a space for reflection, repair, and delight.
